Dr. Hiew King Cheu (Chinese: 邱庆洲; pinyin: Qiū Qìng Zhōu) is a Malaysian politician. He is currently the Member of the Parliament of Malaysia for the Kota Kinabalu constituency in Sabah, representing the opposition Democratic Action Party (DAP).[1]
Hiew was elected to federal Parliament in the 2008 election.[2] In a four-way election, he narrowly defeated Christina Liew of fellow opposition party PKR and Barisan Nasional's Chin Teck Meng.[3] The election was regarded as an unexpected loss by the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition.[4]
Hiew had previously contested the Kota Kinabalu seat, losing in the 2004 election.[2] He also contested, and lost, a by-election in 2002.[5]
